The ability to replace the loss of two key players will be integral to success for Wilmington College during the 2012 season.

Gone via graduation are Amy McClelland and Chelcey Lyons, players who played big roles in the program’s growth and success over the past four years.

The cupboard, however, is far from bare.

Back for Wilmington are senior front-line players Anne Keenan and Sara Fisher, who were among the team’s leaders in kills and blocks in 2011. Keenan and Fisher also were Academic All-OAC honorees last year.

Expected to make an impact is sophomore Ashley Miller, who led the team in blocks last season.

Jan Tobe will be returning to coach the Quakers. Tobe was at the helm from 2007-09. In 2008, Tobe led Wilmington to 15 wins, the most in two decades.

The Quakers will open the 2012 season Aug. 31 at the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational.
