WILMINGTON – Wilmington College Athletic Director Terry Rupert is pleased to announce the hiring of Joe Leo as the head men’s and women’s tennis coach. He replaces Kara Grasty, who coached last season.

“We are pleased to bring someone with Joe’s tennis experience to Wilmington College,” said Rupert. “His ties to the Cincinnati area will help us attract players from that area. We believe with his passion for tennis and recruiting, Joe will have our tennis program headed in the right direction.”

Leo comes to Wilmington after coaching at Maderia High School and before that, Kings High School. While at Kings, Leo coached players in sectionals, districts and the Ohio High School Athletic Association state championships. He has experiences in helping create and organize tennis draws, while recruiting teams for local matches and tournaments.

In addition to his high school experience, Leo is the Head Tennis Professional at Miami Hills Swim and Tennis Club. He manages the budget, teaches private lessions and has created events such as the Kid and Keeper, Skills Challenges and Round Robin tournaments.

“I have developed a lot of high school students and I wanted to take the next step,” said Leo.
