CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. ‹ Wilmington became the first team to advance to the NCAA Final Four in school history, with a 63-60 victory over Puget Sound on Saturday in the NCAA Sectional hosted by Thomas More.

Senior Emily Cummins was named the Sectional Most Valuable Player after scoring 15 points, including the game-winner in the final seconds, giving her team the victory.

The Lady Quakers trailed for the majority of the second half until Cummins' lay-in gave them a one-point lead. A pair of free throws by freshman Erica Smith iced the game for the Quakers.

Smith scored a game-high 16 points for the Green and White while Cummins scored 15 and Amy Kincer chipped in 11. Kelly Peters pulled down a team-leading eight rebounds while Tara Rausch and Siobhan Zerilla each grabbed seven.

Zerilla and Rausch each went over 1,000 career rebounds in the game.

Puget Sound was led by Lindsay May who scored 26 points and pulled down 12 rebounds, while Angie Straw put in 14 in the loss.

The Lady Quakers will face off against Rochester in the national semifinal in Virginia Beach, Va., on Friday.
