named First Team All-OAC

leads three other Lady Quakers on All-League team

WILMINGTON,
Ohio Wilmington College senior Siobhan Zerilla (Cincinnati/Mercy)
was named to the All-Ohio Athletic Conference First Team voted
on by the league head coaches announced on Wednesday.
Zerilla is joined by Courtney Balser (Pleasant Plain/Little
Miami), who earned second-team honors, while Sam Hood (Lockbourne/Teays
Valley) and Katie Streck (Dayton/Carroll) were each named
to the Honorable Mention squad.
Zerilla ended her four-year career with the Lady Quakers as
the school's all-time leading rebounder, with 1,330 career
boards, also good for the 10th highest total in NCAA Division
III history, while also scoring over 1,000 points in her career.
She was the only player in the OAC to average a double-double
this past season, scoring 11.3 points while pulling down 10.9
rebounds per game.
Her
305 rebounds on the season is the sixth highest single season
total in school history, as she now holds four of the top
six marks. Her career .536 field goal percentage is the school
record in the category, as she has hit 441-of-822 shots in
her career.

Sam Hood
|
Balser,
a junior in her first year with the WC program, led the team
by averaging 12.2 points per game, while also pulling down
4.8 rebounds per game. She hit 82.1 percent (78-of-95) of
her free throws, the fifth best single-season total in school
history.
Hood,
a sophomore point guard, makes her first appearance on the
All-League team after scoring 6.0 points per game and dishing
out 120 assists on the year for an average of 4.3 per game.
Her 269 assists for her career puts her in fifth all-time
in Lady Quaker history, while her 120 assists this year is
the eighth best single season total in school history.
Streck,
one of five freshman named to one of the three teams, earned
honorable mention honors. She scored 311 points on the year
for an average of 11.5 per game, while pulling down 5.5 rebounds
per game. She blocked a team-high 15 shots while picking off
29 steals to lead the team. Her 55.1% (118-of-214) from the
field is the fifth best season total in school history.

Katie Streck
|
The
Lady Quakers ended the 2004-05 season with a 23-5 record,
and were Co-Champions of the Ohio Athletic Conference. The
23 wins is the fourth straight season that the Lady Quakers
have reached the 20-win plateau, and the eighth of the last
nine years. The team fell in the OAC Tournament Championship
game to Baldwin-Wallace College by a 81-59 score, and fell
short of one of the seven Pool C bids to the NCAA Tournament.
