Rausch sets rebounding record in 14-point win

Senior forward scores 25 while pulling down 25 rebounds

(WC Press Release) New Concord, Ohio (February 11, 2004) -- Wilmington College senior forward Tara Rausch (Marysville/Fairbanks) set a new single game school record in pulling down 25 rebounds in the team's 72-58 victory over Muskingum on Wednesday.

The senior's total of 25 eclipsed the previous school record of 23 set by current teammate Siobhan Zerilla (Cincinnati/Mercy) who pulled down her total in the OAC Semi-Finals of 2003 against Mount Union College.

The Lady Quakers trailed just once in the game, at 4-2 a minute and a half into the game, before the visitors opened a 16-2 run to open a comfortable 14-point lead with 10 minutes to play in the first half. The lead in the period grew to as many as 15 before it was cut to 10 heading into the locker room.

In the second half the Muskies cut the Lady Quaker lead to six with 16:45 to play before the Green and White used a 14-2 run to take an 18-point lead and cruised the rest of the way in the 72-58 win.

Rausch scored 25 points to go with her 25 rebounds, giving her a total of 45 rebounds over the last two games. Emily Cummins (Springfield/Northwestern) scored 13 points while Sam Hood (Lockbourne/Teays Valley) put in a dozen for the Green and White. Amy Kincer (Englewood/Northmont) helped Rausch on the rebonding end, pulling down eight, as the Green and White out-rebounded the Muskies 58-39 in the contest.

Muskingum was led by Lindsay Mast who scored 20 points while Leah Miller put in nine.

With the win the Lady Quakers improve to 16-5 overall and 12-3 in the OAC while Muskingum falls to 10-11 on the year and 7-8 in league play.

The next game for the Green and White is on Saturday, February 14 when the team travels to Mount Union College with tip-off set for 3:00 p.m.
