Rausch named Player of the Week

Senior earns third POW honor this season

(WC Press Release) Wilmington, Ohio (February 9, 2004) -- Wilmington College senior Tara Rausch (Marysville/Fairbanks) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week ending February 7.

The 5-11 forward averaged 20.5 points and 15.0 rebounds per game. She tied her career high with 20 rebounds against John Carroll on Saturday. She also became the 13th player in OAC women's history to score 1,600 or more career points. For the season,

Rausch is averaging a league-best 19.3 points while pulling down 10.1 rebounds, second in the OAC, as she is the only player in the conference averaging a double-double. Rausch also leads in blocked shots (31) while ranking fourth in field goal percentage.

The Lady Quakers are currently 15-5 on the season and are in a three-way tie for second place in the in the league.

The next game for the Green and White is on Wednesday, February 11 when the team travels to New Concord, Ohio to face off against the Muskies of Muskingum College with tip-off set for 7:30 p.m.
