Lady Quakers fall to Baldwin-Wallace 84-56

Streck leads team with 12 points in loss

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College Lady Quakers dropped their first OAC game of the new year by a 28-point margin to the Yellow Jackets of Baldwin-Wallace College.

The Lady Quakers never led in the game, as the Yellow Jackets scored the first four points of the game and never looked back, taking a 37-23 halftime lead.

Things did not get any better in the second half, as the closest the team would come would be 11 in the 28-point loss.

Katie Streck (Dayton/Carroll) led the way with 12 points as no other Lady Quaker reached double figures. Courtney Balser (Pleasant Plain/Little Miami) scored nine points as Erica Smith (Union/Northmont) added seven in the loss. Siobhan Zerilla (Cincinnati/Mercy) pulled down seven rebounds, as the team was out-rebounded 50-30 in the contest.

The Yellow Jackets put just two players in double figures in the contest, led by Stacia Shrider’s 11 points while Jessica Latimer scored 10 while three others had nine points.

With the loss, the Lady Quakers fall to 9-3 overall and 4-1 in the OAC while Baldwin-Wallace improves to 9-4 and 5-1 in league play.

The next game for the Lady Quakers is on Wednesday, January 11 when the team plays host to the Muskies of Muskingum College with tip-off set for 7:30 p.m.
