Tara Rausch for NCAA Division III All-Time Top 5 Tara Rausch,
a standout student-athlete on Wilmington College's 2004 national
championship women's basketball team, has been selected among
the top 25 NCAA Division III players of all time.
A
national vote open to the public is being conducted to name
the top five players and coach from the last 25 years. The
top 25 selections and national balloting are part of the NCAA's
milestone 25th anniversary of the womenıs championships during

Rausch,
who was recognized as the Most Outstanding Player in the 2004
NCAA Division III Tournament, led the Lady Quakers to the
pinnacle of the sport as WC won its first-ever national championship
in a team competition.
The
Ohio Athletic Conference's scoring leader in 2003 and 2004,
Rausch was 2003 OAC Player-of-the-Year and a First Team All-Conference
selection in 2004. As a junior she was First Team All-Great
Lakes Region, a D-3 Hoops.com All-American and a Kodak/Women's
Basketball Coaches' Association honorable mention All-American.
Her senior year Rausch was First Team All-Great Lakes Region,
a D-3 Hoops.com preseason and post-season First Team All-American,
and a First Team Kodak/WBCA All-American.
Rausch,
a 2004 WC graduate, has her name prominently displayed throughout
the College's record book. For her career, she is second in
points with 1,830, third in rebounds (1,017) and fifth in
field goal percentage (0.520). Under season records, she holds
the second and third places for scoring in 2004 (616 points)
and 2003 (566), respectively, and is second in rebounds with
365.
Rausch
also is ranked in the top 10 in scoring average, free throws
made, free throws attempted, field goals made, field goals
attempted, field goal percentage and blocked shots. In addition,
she is ranked first in rebounds (25) in the schoolıs individual
game records and is in the top 10 for points (38), field goals,
field goal percentage and attempted free throws. The Lady
Quakers in 2002, 2003 and 2004, respectively, competed in
the NCAA Division III "Elite Eight," "Sweet 16" and National
Championship game.
