All-Ohio Athletic Conference
Peters, Streck, Hood among OAC's best

TWINSBURG
Wilmington College junior post Kelly Peters led a trio
of Lady Quakers named to the All-Ohio Athletic Conference
women's basketball team.
Peters(Spencerville)
was named All-OAC First Team, sophomore post Katie Streck
(Dayton/Carroll) was named All-OAC Second Team and junior
point guard Sam Hood (Lockbourne/Teays Valley) was named All-OAC
Honorable Mention.
Peters
had a break-through season that launched her to the upper
echelon of the OAC. Her 16.1 points per game scoring average
was fourth-best in the

Katie Streck

OAC
while her 8.4 rebounds per game ranked No. 3 in the conference.
Peters not only led the OAC in field goal percentage, but
established a new Wilmington College single-season record
by hitting 60 percent of her shots from the field, a statistic
that ranked ninth in the nation.
Streck,
who was All-OAC Honorable Mention as a freshman, averaged
14.4 points and six rebounds per game this season, which ranked
seventh and 10th, respectively, in the conference. Streck
led the OAC in free throw percentage, hitting 85 percent from
the line, the third-highest season average in WC history.

Sam Hood
|
Hood,
who also was All-OAC Honrable Mention last season, led the
OAC in assists and was ninth in the nation, averaging 6.1
per game. She now has 433 career assists and trails only Jenny
Eagan (522) and Megan Woodruff (580) on the Lady Quakers'
all-time list. Hood, who averaged 8.4 points per game, also
led the OAC in assist/turnover ratio. Her 164 assists represent
the second-best season in WC history.
Other
members of the All-OAC First Team were Nikki Altenweg of Baldwin-Wallace,
Shayla Bell of John Carroll, Sara Heitkamp of Capital and
Danielle Holbrook of Otterbein. Joining Streck on the second
team were Kyla Hogan of Mount Union, Jennifer Lilly of Capital,
Justine Pagenhardt of Marietta and Michelle White of Baldwin-Wallace.
In addition to Hood, honorable mention awards went to Amanda
Campbell of Heidelberg, Megan Cevasco of Ohio Northern, Sara
Fee of Otterbein, Caitlin Hubach of John Carroll, Amanda Mondrach
of Baldwin-Wallace, Jenn Neal of Baldwin-Wallace, Abbey Perez
of Otterbein, Laura Roth of Otterbein, Brittany Skolnicki
of Heidelberg and Alicia Williams of Mount Union.
Heitkamp
was the recipient of the OAC Helen Ludwig Award, given to
the OAC's most outstanding player. Baldwin-Wallace head coach
Cheri Harrer was named OAC Coach of the Year and Mondrach
was named OAC Freshman of the Year.
