Sam Hood receives OAC Honors

WILMINGTON, Ohio — Wilmington College junior point guard Sam Hood (Lockbourne/Teays Valley) has been named Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

She is the second Lady Quaker in consecutive weeks to receive this honor, as Kelly Peters was selected last week. Hood averaged 11.5 points and 11 assists in a pair of Wilmington College victories. She scored 10 points and handed out 12 assists in the Lady Quakers' 71-53 win over Wittenberg University, then recorded another double-double, scoring 13 points and dishing out 10 assists in Wilmington's 89-75 OAC win over John Carroll University.

In the win over JCU, Hood passed Deanne Arnold to move into third place on the Wilmington College all-time career assists list. Hood, who has 321 assists, trails only Jenny Eagan (522) and Megan Woodruff (580) on the all-time list.
