Student Government Association (SGA)

It is the responsibility of Wilmington College's SGA to serve as the representative voice of the student population; to encourage understanding and respect for the Quaker tradition of peace, service, and inner direction; to recognize and aid worthy student organizations; and to promote pride in the College. The SGA seeks to serve all the students' desires for improved student services and academic programs, as well as to promote honest and open communications among students, faculty, administrators, and staff. The SGA Steering Committee is also responsible for the allocation of the student activity fee. All registered and enrolled students of Wilmington College main campus are members of the Student Government Association.
Any member of the SGA has the right to present a concern or grievance in accordance with the SGA Bylaws (Article I,Section I). Any member of SGA has the right to appeal a decision in accordance with the SGA Bylaws (Article I, Section II).
The SGA Board meets every Tuesday afternoon at 5:00 p.m.in the SGA office. All students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend.
2010-2011 Steering Committee Members
Student Body President – Alanna Bornhorst
Alanna is a senior, majoring in Middle Childhood Education with concentrations in Math & Language Arts. She is from Fort Loramie, Ohio where she attended Fort Loramie High School. On campus, Alanna is the President of Delta Omega Theta Sorority, a member of Order of Omega, and a student worker for the Education Department. She plans to graduate in May of 2011, get a teaching job close to home, and eventually work towards a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership & Administration.
Student Body Vice President – Scott T. Johnson
Scott is senior, majoring in Criminal Justice with a minor in Social & Political Studies. He is from Cincinnati, Ohio where he graduated from Mount Healthy High School. Scott is very involved on campus as the President of Black Student Initiative, a Student Ambassador, and a Peer Mentor. In the future, Scott hopes to become a lawyer and continue up the political chain of command.
Vice President of Finance – Christopher Hughes
Christopher is a senior with a Theatre major. He is from Lancaster, Ohio where he attended Bloom-Carroll High School. Christopher is a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He plans on attending another college after graduation to receive a Vocal Music Education Degree and eventually teach high school choirs.
Vice President of Administration – Evan Owen
Evan is a senior, majoring in Psychology and Pre-Law. He lives in St. Clairsville, Ohio and graduated from St. Calirsville High School. On campus, Evan is an RA, campus safety dispatcher, and works from Computer Services. He plans on attending graduate school or law school upon graduation.
Vice President of Public Relations – Kayla Walker
Kayla is a sophomore at Wilmington, with a double-major in Psychology and Communications. She attended Lynchburg-Clay High School in Lynchburg, Ohio. Kayla is the Academic Excellence chair and on the Standards Board for Kappa Delta Sorority and is involved with Psychology Club. She plans to graduate with her double major, get a job in photography, and attend graduate school for psychology.
Vice President of Elections – Jordan Zink
Jordan is a senior and a Health/Physical Education major. He is from Miamisburg, Ohio and graduated from Miamisburg High School. Jordan is the Vice President of Gamma Phi Gamma Fraternity. After graduation, Jordan plans to get a teaching position and coach.
Vice President of Faculty, Alumni, & Trustee Relations – Nicholas Marchetti
Nicholas is a senior majoring in Social & Political Studies/Pre-Law. He is from Brecksville, Ohio where he graduated from Broadview Heights High School. Nicholas is the president of Gamma Phi Gamma Fraternity. In the future, Nicholas hopes to find a job in Cleveland and further is political career.
