The Art of Peace Exhibition

Artist from around the world are taking part in a unique art event in Dayton. The Art Peace Exhibition Open Reception and Silent Auction will be held on October 22 from 5p.m. to 9 p.m. The event will be held at the Dayton Society of Painters and Sculptors at 48 High Street, Dayton, and at the Missing Peace Art Space 234 S. Dutoit Street, Dayton, Ohio. The galleries are close to each other and will be connected by white doves created by student artists from the K12 Gallery in Dayton.
Award-winning Artist Arrigo Musti from Palermo, Italy is the featured artist and will be present at the reception. His paintings will be displayed at the Missing Peace Art Space from October 23 to December 6. His work addresses the messages of world peace, the suffering associated with war, the irony of violence and the hope for the future.
Dayton Society of Painters and Sculptors will have their Art of Peace Exhibition open from October 23 to November 1 and is open to the public Thursday – Sunday 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. In November some pieces will be on display and for sale at the Cannery Art and Design Center, 434 E. Third Street, Dayton.
The Exhibition will commemorate the 14th anniversary of the signing of the Dayton Peace Accords that resulted in an end to the Bosnia-Herzegovina conflict. This charity event aims to raise funds for the Dayton International Peace Museum and the Narva Children’s Orphanage in Estonia.
The Dayton International Peace Museumis a non-partisan, nonprofit, cultural and educational organization designed to promote the concept of peace and the viability of non-violent solutions to conflict at the local, national and international levels. The Exhibition is in cooperation with Artenade, an artist collective managed by young professionals and international students who share the same interest in humanitarianism.
