Monday classes were cancelled for the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday, but a devoted cohort of Wilmington College students, staff and administrators decided to take to heart the federal day of service mantra, "A day on, not a day off."

The group spent several hours volunteering at Sugartree Ministries and its associated Your Father's Kitchen food pantry under the auspices of WC's Center for Service and Civic Engagement.

The volunteers cleaned and organized the facility, and stocked shelves with bread, canned goods and other nonperishables.
