Original art projects can promote learning for children at home or at school.

Wilmington College invites K-12 students in Wilmington and Clinton County to create and share their artistic interpretations of Martin Luther King, Jr. – his life and legacy. Students may decide to research and represent any event in King’s life or to interpret the legacy and influence of King in our community, nation, or world.

Each poster should include the printed name and age of the student artist on the back. Submissions should be dropped off before January 13 at the Wilmington College Watson Library circulation desk (off College Street behind College Hall).

Small posters in standard letter size, 8.5 by 11 inches, using any medium are welcome. The students’ poster art will be compiled into a PowerPoint slide show. The slide show will be shown as part of the annual Wilmington College – Wilmington Community Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Celebration program Jan. 18, at 7:30 p.m., in Hugh G. Heiland Theatre.

All are welcome to this family-friendly event. Call 937-382-6661 x345 for more information.
