WESTERVILLE, OH - The Wilmington College men's soccer team had its seven-game unbeaten streak come to an end Tuesday with a 2-1 loss to Otterbein in Ohio Athletic Conference action.

It was the first OAC loss for Wilmington, which falls to 9-5-1 overall and 4-1-1 in the league, while Otterbein picked up its first OAC victory of the season. The Cardinals improved to 5-8-1 overall, 1-4-1 in the conference.

Wilmington outshot the Cardinals, 20-4, on the evening, but only five of the 20 shots were on frame.

"The guys didn't strike the ball well, rushed our shots," said Wilmington head coach Bud Lewis. "It was almost like we were clearing the ball instead shooting ball. We worked really hard to create the chances, we just didn't have the composure to finish. With the offense we created, it should have resulted in two, if not three goals. It's disappointing."

Otterbein jumped out early on the Fightin' Quakers getting a goal in the 11th minute. It was the second shot of the game, and the first by the Cardinals. The score remained that way until the 63rd minute as OC added to it lead with an insurance goal.

Sophomore Martin Holmquist (Karlstad, Sweden/Alvkulle Gymnasiet) tallied Wilmington's only goal of the contest. In the game's 70 minute, the Fightin' Quakers halved its deficit as Holmquist headed home a free kick from junior Henrik Hornaess (Brumunddal, Norway/Hamar Katerdralskole).

Junior Antonio Trujillo (Cincinnati, OH/Princeton) allowed goals on both of the Otterbein shots on goal.
Wilmington will return to action 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Marietta.
