BEXLEY — Wilmington College dropped an 8-1 decision to Capital University in Ohio Athletic Conference men’s tennis action Friday afternoon.
The Quakers are now 0-8 in OAC play, 0-10 overall. Capital moves to 3-5 in the conference, 4-15 for the season.
Charles Hirtzinger (Troy) posted Wilmington’s lone win, a 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 victory over Mark Williams at No. 5 singles.
The singles win was the second straight for Hirtzinger. The freshman leads the team with three singles and two doubles victories.
Jon Asher (Loveland/Goshen) dropped a three-set battle to Chris Morris at No. 4 singles, falling 6-4, 3-6, 8-10.
The No. 3 doubles combination of Josh Kincaid (Loveland/Goshen) and Killian Cummings (Cincinnati/Colerain) lost, 4-8, to Williams and Morris.
The Quakers will close the season at John Carroll on Saturday.
