Quaker Heritage Center to Feature 'Quakers and the Political Process'
Exhibit Runs from Oct. 11 through Dec. 10

The upcoming gallery exhibit in the Meriam R. Hare Quaker Heritage Center will highlight Friends’ contributions to American political life from the time of William Penn to the present.
The exhibit, “Quakers and the Political Process: Living Our Faith into Action,” opens Oct. 11 and runs through Dec. 10. Normal gallery hours are weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or by appointment through curator Ruth Dobyns.
Philadelphia Yearly Meeting produced the exhibit, which features a focus on southwest Ohio added by the Quaker Heritage Center.

| Description: | Friends have 350 years of consistent dedication to the concepts of freedom, truth, and justice. By both collective action and individual leadership, Quakers have altered the character and concerns of American government and politics. This exhibit explores some of those efforts, including governance, advocacy, and action. Produced by Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, with a special focus on Southwest Ohio researched by Senior Mark Fernandez, this beautifully illustrated exhibit describes Quaker contributions to American political life from the time of William Penn to the present. The exhibit will be on display through December 10, 2010. The Gallery is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., or by appointment. |
