Jenna Parlette earned All-OAC honors with a third-place finish in the 5,000-meter run.
WESTERVILLE — Jenna Parlette ran to all-conference honors as Wilmington College closed out competition in the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship at Otterbein University Saturday.
The Quakers finished 10th overall. Mount Union won the team title.
Parlette (Miamisburg) finished third in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:16 that narrowly missed Annie Cekada’s team record and earned the freshman a trip to the All-OAC awards podium.
“Jenna had not run an indoor 5K this season. Her run in the 5,000 was really strong,” Wilmington head coach Ron Combs said. “She is such a warrior in her races — she always gives it everything she has every time she steps on the track.”
Cekada (Mineral Point, Pa./Central Cambria) finished ninth at 5,000 meters.
Earlier in Saturday’s competition, Parlette finished eighth in the mile run, hitting the line in 5:27.87.
Anna Foote (Pleasant Plain/Goshen) was ninth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:29.35.
Chelsea Sites (Wilmington) was 11th in the high jump with a best effort of 4-8 ¼.
“The important thing right now on the women’s side is to get all of our people rested and get everyone healthy and back to 100 percent at this point. I think we will be a better team when we get outdoors this spring,” Combs said.
