Parlette earns first team All-OAC
Women's team places fifth

WILMINGTON – Sophomore Jenna Parlette finished ninth in the 2012 Ohio Athletic Conference cross country meet to earn first team All-OAC honors Saturday. Parlette (Miamisburg, OH/Miamisburg) finished the course in the time of 23:41.7 as the Wilmington women’s cross country team placed fifth of 10 teams.
“The women have battled injuries all year and still got fifth today,” said head coach Ron Combs. “They have battled adversity. I am proud of the girls, they could have packed it in a couple weeks ago.”
Sophomore Tricia Steffen (Baltimore, OH/Liberty Union) was the second Wilmington runner across the line, placing 30th in a time of 25:02.4. Senior Brittany Gibbons (Pleasant Plain, OH/Blanchester) was 47th with a time of 25:33.0, senior Karlee Michel (Alexandria, OH/Johnstown-Monroe) finished 56th in 25:49.5 and sophomore Veronica Burnam (New Richmond, OH/New Richmond) finished 72th in 26:32.7 to round out the Quakers’ scoring.
Other WC runners were freshman Mary Krebs (78th, 26:49), senior Elise Bernhard (99th, 27:43.1), sophomore Sarah Murphy (114th, 28:28.9), senior Chelsea Sites (119th, 29:18.4), senior Katie Milbower (125th, 30:10.7), senior Mary Huggins (134th, 32:17.7) and freshman Nina Veite (136th, 33:32.8).
Wilmington returns to action November 10 at the Great Lakes Regional meet at Anderson University.
