Elizabeth Haskins accepts an ovation as conductor of the College-Community Chorus.
This fall was a momentous season of professional accomplishment for Elizabeth Haskins the composer.
Haskins is an assistant professor of music at Wilmington College and conductor of its College-Community Chorus and Collegium Musicum.
Her musical compositions that comprise “My Garden,” published by Vivace Press, were performed at venues in New York and New Jersey.
They include a music faculty recital at Vassar College, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; the 24th Lile Hall Concert Series at Christ Church, Summit, N.J.; and the 2009 Music in Central Valley Series, Central Valley Methodist Church, Central Valley, N.Y.
Also, Haskins recently received word that “My Garden” will be performed and recorded in late February at St. Joseph’s College, Philadelphia.
Holly Chatham, a professional pianist in the New York City area, wrote Haskins of her musical group’s concerts and recording plans.
“The program includes music for all combinations of piano, violin and voice by Debussy, Faure, Poulen, Clark and living composers Richard Wilson, Tarik O’Reagan and you,” Chatham said. “We have included your beautiful set of pieces, “My Garden” on the program and we would like to include your pieces on the recording.”
