Mount Union wins OAC men's cross country

WILMINGTON – Mount Union had three of the top six runners en route to winning the 2012 Ohio Athletic Conference men’s cross country meet. All five of the Purple Raiders earned All-OAC honors by finishing in the top 18.

Ohio Northern finished second, followed by John Carroll, Wilmington, Muskingum, Marietta, Heidelberg, Baldwin-Wallace, Otterbein and Capital.

Marietta senior Caleb Mueller won the race with a time of 24:51.0, followed by Baldwin-Wallace senior Kenneth Janosko in 25:26.8. Marietta senior Caleb Ellis (25:53.1), Mount Union junior Josh Clemence (25:56.5) and Mount Union freshman Alex Wilson (25:56.7) rounded out the top five.

Sophomore Nate Grimm (Mount Union), junior Mark Berton (Ohio Northern), senior Tyler Smith (Muskingum) and junior Evan McKee (Ohio Northern) all earned first-team All-OAC honors.

The All-OAC second team members are junior Alek Erwin (Wilmington), sophomore John Honkala (John Carroll), freshman Drake Sulzer (John Carroll), sophomore Nick Banks (Mount Union), sophomore Nathan Rosenbaum (Ohio Northern), sophomore Myles Corcoran (Wilmington), senior Dustin Kuess (Heidelberg), junior Jon Karmazin (Mount Union) and senior Michael Simmons (Ohio Northern).
