AUSTINTOWN — Wilmington College freshman Stacy Lunsford has been named to the All-Ohio Athletic Conference Softball Team, the league office announced today. She was an honorable mention pick.

Lunsford (Wilmington/Clinton-Massie) batted .304 and scored 12 runs. She led the OAC with 15 sacrifice bunts and committed just two errors in her left field position.

“I expected big things from Stacy, and she delivered right off the bat,” Wilmington head coach Beth Floyd said. “She stepped in and showed that she is every coach’s dream. She practices hard every day and she plays hard every day. She truly loves the sport of softball.”

Floyd said no aspect of the game is overlooked by the first-year outfielder.

“Stacy is a student of the game. She understands the game very well and she’s always pushing herself to gain more knowledge. I think that is going to carry her to even greater success in her career at Wilmington,” Floyd said.
