Lady Quakers place second at Otterbein

Several underclassmen came up big for the Wilmington College indoor track & field team, winning two field events, as the Lady Quakers finished second in the eight-team Otterbein Invitational Saturday.
“I am impressed with the women’s team,” said head coach Ron Combs. “To score 101 points with just 12 girls is pretty impressive. It’s a good start for us. I picked a small meet to help build our confidence. A lot of they were nervous in the beginning.”
Freshman Jadie Riewoldt (Morrow, OH/Little Miami) won the high jump on her seventh attempt with a jump of 5-01.75, while classmate Marissa Bolen (Gibsonburg, OH/Gibsonburg) was victorious in the shot put with a toss of 40-01.50 on her fourth attempt.
Sophomore Sarah Murphy (West Liberty, OH/West Liberty-Salem) won the 500 meter with a time of 1:26.91, while sophomore Jenna Parlette (Miamisburg, OH/Miamisburg) was the top collegiate runner in the one mile, finishing in 5:48.61
Senior Liz Delehanty (Euclid, OH/Villa Angela-St. Joseph’s) nearly eclipsed her career high in the pole vault, finishing second with a vault of 10-06.00.
Wilmington will compete in the Ohio Athletic Conference South meet at Capital University on January 26.
