Bill Kincaid has been named Wilmington College's faculty athletic representative.
William Kincaid has been named Wilmington College’s faculty athletic representative, WC President Jim Reynolds announced today.
Kincaid succeeds Caralee Capone-Bethel, who had served as Wilmington’s FAR since 2006.
Kincaid is in his 43rd year as a mathematics professor at Wilmington College. His interest in and commitment to the educational process is unwavering.
“The great thing about teaching at Wilmington is you get to see the students growing and becoming adults who know what it is they want to do,” Kincaid said. “It’s a privilege to be part of that growing process.”
Kincaid’s involvement with Wilmington College athletics dates back to the 1970s when he coached the Quakers cross country and track and field teams. He has remained a loyal fan of and friend to Wilmington’s student-athletes.
“Sometimes, an athlete feels isolated from the rest of the campus. It’s good to give them the idea that I know what they are doing, care about what they are doing and think it is special what they are doing. When you do that for students, often times they will give back to you as an educator because they feel part of the group,” Kincaid said.
