Join a Master Storyteller
02/01/10
Join the Englewood Friends for an evening of inspiration with the master storyteller Phil Gulley on March 6, 2010 at 7:00 pm. Gulley will speak about his latest book “If the Church Were Christian” followed by an open question and answer time. The Meetinghouse is located at 51 S. Union Blvd Clayton, Ohio.
Gulley is a Quaker pastor and beloved writer and speaker from Danville, Indiana. He has become the voice of small-town American life through such works as his acclaimed Harmony series of novels chronicling life in the eccentric Quaker community of Harmony, Indiana and the best selling Porch Talk series of inspirational and humorous stories.
In his current theological endeavor, “If the Church Were Christian,” Gulley explores a Christianity that is consistent with the teachings of Jesus and a church that encourages Jesus' example as a model for living. Gulley explores those values that he believes the church should embrace in topics that will include grace, reconciliation, peace, personal spiritual exploration, and uplifting of the human spirit. “If the Church Were Christian” will be released February 2, 2010.
A selection of Phil’s books including his latest book will be available for sale during the program at a discounted price for those in attendance. Gulley will autograph books purchased that night. Light refreshments will be provided following the program.
Russell Wheeler, Clerk of Ministry and Oversight at Englewood Friends, says, “You will be uplifted by Gulley’s message. It will be an evening that will change the way you experience God and all of his creation.” Come early as seating is limited.
