Fetherolf receives national award
Senior named scholar-athlete by NFCA

STARKVILLE, Miss. — Senior Amber Fetherolf has been named an Academic Scholar-Athlete by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
Fetherolf (Springfield/Catholic Central) has been named to the 2011 Girls Got Game Academic Scholar-Athlete Team by the national coaches association. The award is her second in as many years.
The honor is based on the cumulative grade point average of the student-athlete for the entire academic year. To earn recognition, a student-athlete must have maintained a 3.5 GPA during both semesters of the academic year.
Fetherolf maintained a 3.61 GPA as an early childhood education major.
“Amber is a hard worker in the classroom and I am very proud of her,” Wilmington head coach Beth Floyd said. “She is very passionate about teaching and has a great future ahead of her.
