December is a time in which persons of various faiths, ethnicities and nationalities observe holidays and special traditions.
Wilmington College is hosting a public program highlighting some of these religious, cultural and secular events Monday (Dec. 7), at 7 p.m., in the McCoy Room of Kelly Center.
Some of the presenters include Margaret Hawley Morgan, a member of Temple Sholom in Springfield, who will speak on the Jewish tradition of Chanukah, while Noah Campbell, pastor of First Baptist Church of Wilmington, will address Christian Advent.
Also, senior David Diaby, an international student from Sweden, will note Islamic traditions and Valena Randolph, a faculty member at Central State University and former curator of the National Afro-American Museum and Cultural Center in Wilberforce, will speak on Kwanzaa.
The Office of Campus Ministry and Black Student Initiative are co-sponsoring the event.
