01/08/10
Members of the College-Community Chorus perform at the Winter Concert in December.
The Wilmington College-Community Chorus is gearing up for its spring semester with a schedule of rehearsals and call for new members.
Rehearsals beginning Feb. 1 will again be held on Mondays, from 7 to 9 p.m., in Room 208 of the Oscar F. Boyd Cultural Arts Center.
The chorus will be preparing music for the annual Spring Choral Concert on April 25. Among the programmed works are selections from Randall Thomson’s Peaceable Kingdom and Duke Ellington’s first and second Sacred Concerts.
Solo and small ensemble opportunities are offered to chorus members by audition.
Singers of high school age and older with choral or vocal solo experience are encouraged to join. Subsequent to the first rehearsal, new members can schedule a brief, informal session to determine range. Music and folders will be provided.
New member meeting times and more information are available by contacting chorus director Elizabeth Haskins at (937) 382-6661 ext. 334 or via email at liz_haskins@wilmington.edu.
