WILMINGTON, OH – Wilmington College is pleased to announce that 2000 alum, Jayson Ameer Rasheed, has returned to serve as the school’s new Sports Information Director. He replaces Jeff Hibbs, who spent seven years in the role.

Rasheed is no stranger to Wilmington athletics or the WC Sports Information department. As an undergrad, he worked in the SID office for four years, while playing four different sports. Rasheed was a member of the football, swimming, baseball and track teams while attending the college from 1995 to 2000.

Prior to being named SID at his alma mater, the Cincinnati native had stints as the Sports Information Director at Thomas More College, Alabama State University and Webster University. In addition, he has worked with professional indoor football teams, the Northern Kentucky River Monsters and Cincinnati Commandos.

“I am thrilled to be able to return to Wilmington,” said Rasheed. “This is where I discovered what I wanted to do as a career and it’s a pleasure to be able to display my talents and my Wilmington education here working for the college.”

He still resides in Cincinnati, and shares his birthday with his daughter, MacKienzee.
