Quakers lose at Capital

Cullen Corcoran dropped a close match at No. 5 singles to Capital's Josh Dotson.
BEXLEY — Wilmington College lost to Capital University, 9-0, in Ohio Athletic Conference action Friday afternoon.
The loss drops the Quakers to 0-7 in the OAC, 0-10 overall. Capital improves to 2-4 in the conference, 6-16 for the season.
The match of the day came at No. 5 singles, where Cullen Corcoran (Wilmington/Clinton-Massie) dropped a three-set battle to Josh Dotson. Dotson won the first set, 6-1, but Corcoran rallied to take set two, 7-5, and set up a decisive 10-point tiebreaker, won by Dotson, 10-2.
Connor LaVelle (Athens) dropped a 6-3, 6-2 decision to Kenny Duncan on the No. 2 singles court.
At No. 1 singles, Justin Arehart (Wilmington) lost, 6-2, 6-0, to John Murray.
Josh Kincaid (Loveland/Goshen) dropped his No. 3 match to Tommy Stein, 6-0, 6-2.
At the No. 4 position, Killian Cummings dropped a 6-2, 6-0 decision to Doug Gugel-Bryant.
In doubles play, Arehart and Kincaid dropped a hard-fought 8-6 match to Murray and Duncan at the No. 1 position.
The Quakers will stay on the road for a non-conference match with Mount St. Joseph 2 p.m. Sunday.
