Individually, Lawhon was the GLVC Freshman of the Year in 1998 and was a two-time all-league selection. He holds the NKU single-game records for most three-pointers, highest field goal percentage and highest three-point field goal percentage.
Lawhon comes to Wilmington from Bellarmine University, where he has been an assistant men's basketball coach since 2005. His coaching resume includes stints at Lakota East and Indian Hill high schools, where he was head junior varsity coach and varsity assistant coach, respectively.
"I am very excited to have a person the caliber of Brian join our staff," Wilmington head coach K.C. Hunt said. "He was an outstanding player and he has a very promising career as a coach."
Lawhon will be Wilmington's recruiting coordinator, director of scouting and will work with the Quakers' guards.
