Spraul named OAC Swimmer of the Week

AUSTINTOWN, OH – Junior transfer swimmer Mikey Spraul (Cincinnati, OH/Princeton) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week, the league announced today (October 22, 2012).
In his first collegiate meet, Spraul set a new 100-yard backstroke record covering the distance in 55:08 to win the event. He also won the 200-yard individual medley in the time of 2:07 as Wilmington defeated Defiance this past weekend in a dual meet.
Spraul added a relay victory as WC’s 200-yard medley relay team finished the distance with a time of 1:45.08. It was the first time since Corbin Hellwarth (January 11, 2011) that a Wilmington male swimmer earned the league’s weekly award.
Wilmington returns to the pool Saturday when the host Baldwin-Wallace.
