TIFFIN, Ohio — The Wilmington College Quakers defeated the Student Princes of Heidelberg College 1-0 in their second consecutive shutout on Saturday afternoon.

The Quakers and Student Princes played a scoreless first period, with the Quakers holding a 6-5 advantage in shots.

In the second half, Alex Van der Sluijs scored his second goal of the season off of a free kick. It would prove to be the only goal the Quakers would need as their defense didn't allow Heidelberg to get an equalizer.

The Quakers out-shot the Student Princes 11-9.

Justin Saylor played in goal for the Quakers stopping four shots. Brandon Bernhardt (Cincinnati/Anderson) relieved Saylor in the second half, picking up his fifth win.

With the win the Quakers improve to 9-4-1 overall and 4-0-1 in the OAC, while Heidelberg falls to 8-5 overall and 2-3 in the OAC.

The Green and White next play on Tuesday, October 18th when they host the Muskies of Muskingum College, kickoff is set for 7:00pm.
