Quakers
run past Muskingum

scores 14th, 15th goal of season

New Concord, OH (October 15, 2003) -- The Wilmington College Quakers
continued their winning ways in the second half of the 2003 season.
After starting the season 2-4-1 after seven games, the Quakers have
won seven of their last eight including five straight and four in
a row in conference play.
In the game
the Quakers found themselves down 1-0 just 23 minutes into the game
when the Muskies' Zack Zealer scored to give the hosts the lead.
The Quakers answered with back-to-back goals just two and a half
minutes apart when David Benedict (Cincinnati/North College Hill)
and Ryan Phillips (West Chester/Fenwick) both scored in the first
half before Benedict added his 15th goal of the season just over
a minute into the second half. Chad Garman (Dayton/Chaminade-Julienne)
added the fourth goal of the game for the Quakers.
In the goal
for the Quakers was Kenny Howard (Xenia/Xenia) who played all 90
minutes and allowed the solitary goal in the first half.
With the win
the Quakers improve to 9-5-1 on the season and 4-0 in the OAC while
Muskingum falls to 6-8 and 1-3 in conference play.
The next game
for the Green and White is on Saturday, October 18 when the Quakers
play host to the Student Princes of Heidelberg College.
