WILMINGTON, Ohio ‹ The Wilmington College Quakers rebounded from a 0-0 tie to Mt. Union College to defeat conference rival Ohio Northern University 2-0 on a chilly Wednesday night.

The Quakers and Polar Bears played a scoreless first half, with the Quakers holding an 11-6 shot advantage.

The two teams played 20 minutes into the second period scoreless until Oskar Johansson (Jonkoping, Sweden) took a David Benedict assist and scored his first goal of the night. Johansson struck again in the 88th minute when Cole Weddle (Cincinnati/Colerain) set a cross into the box that Johansson headed to the far post.

Justin Saylor (Cleveland Heights/Cleveland Heights) started and played all 90 minutes in goal for the Quakers. Saylor stopped three shots, picked up his fourth win and his third shutout of the season.

The Quakers held the advantage in both shots and corner kicks, 26-8 and 6-2 repectively. With the win the Quakers improve to 8-4-1 overall and 3-0-1 in the OAC, while Ohio Northern falls to 8-6 overall and 2-2 in the OAC.

The next match for the Green and White is set for Saturday, October 15th as they travel to Tiffin, Ohio to take on conference rival Heidelberg College, with kickoff set for 2:00pm.
