Quakers tie Mount Union

Alliance, Ohio — The Wilmington College Quakers tie with the Purple Raiders of Mount Union 0-0, on Saturday after

noon.

The Quakers' Alex Van der Sluijs (Dayton/Carroll) led Wilmington in shots with twoshots on the goal, while teammates Ryan Phillips (West Chester/Fenwick) and David Benedict (Cincinnati/North College Hill) added one shot apiece.

The Quakers took two shots in the fiirst half, four in the second half, and only one shot in the two overtimes. Mount Union held the advantage with a total of eight shots.

Justin Saylor (Cleveland Heights) started in the goal for the Quakers and had a total of three saves, while maintaining his record of three wins on the season

With the tie the Quakers improve to 7-4-1 overall and 2-011 in the OAC, while Mount Union moves to 6-5-1 and 0-2-1 in the OAC.

The Quakers next match is Wednesday, October 12th when they host Ohio Northern, with kickoff set for 7:00 pm.
