win third straight
Benedict
scores 13th goal of season

Marietta, OH (October 7, 2003) -- TheWilmington College Quakers
went to 2-0 in conference action with a 2-1 victory over Marietta
College on Tuesday afternoon.
Sophomore forward
David Benedict (Cincinnati/North College Hill) scored his 13th goal
of the season while teammate sophomore Chad Garman (Dayton/Chaminade-Julienne)
scored his fifth goal on the 13-game season.
The Quakers
got the first goal of the game when Garman beat the Marietta keeper
off of an unassisted goal 22:26 into the game. Marietta fought back
and tied the game at one just under two minutes before the halftime
break with an unassisted goal.
The game remained
tied until the 68th minute of the game when Benedict scored, giving
the Quakers the 2-1 conference victory.
Kenny Howard
(Xenia/Xenia) and Justin Saylor (Cleveland Heights/Cleveland Heights)
split time in the goal, with Saylor getting the victory in the contest.
With the win,
the Quakers improve their record to 7-5-1 on the season and 2-0
in the Ohio Athletic Conference while Marietta falls to 3-4-5 overall
and 0-2 in league play.
The next game
for the Quakers is on Saturday, October 11 when the Green and White
play host to the Yellow Jackets of Baldwin-Wallace College with
kickoff set for 7:00 p.m.
