WILMINGTON,
Ohio ‹ The Wilmington College Quakers defeated the Bisons
of Bethany College 2-0, on Saturday evening.
The
Quakers scored their first goal in the 17th minute when Chad
Garman (Dayton/ Chaminade Julienne) scored his second goal
of the season off a David Benedict assist. Phil Walter scored
the Quaker's second and the game's final goal in the 28th
minute. Garman completed his night with an assist on Walter's
goal.The
Quakers and Bison's played the remainder of the game scoreless.
The
Quakers out-shot Bethany 24-6 for the game and held the advantage
in corner kicks 15-6.
Brandon
Bernhardt (Cincinnati/Anderson) picked up the shutout stopping
two shots in the win.
The Quakers improve to 5-4, while the Bisons fall to 6-2-1
on the season.
The
next game for the Green and White is on Saturday, October
1 when they host the Cardinals of Otterbein College to open
conference play, with kickoff set for 7:00 pm.
