WIMINGTON, Ohio — The Wilmington College Quakers defeated the Panthers of Ohio Dominican University 2-0 on Tuesday evening.

The Quakers scored their first goal in the 27th minute when Oskar Johansson (Jonkoping, Sweden) scored his team leading fifth goal of the season off a Ryan Phillips (West Chester/Fenwick) assist. The Quakers got their second and the game's final goal in the 57th minute when Derek Van der Sluijs (Dayton/Carroll) took a pass from Chad Garman (Dayton/Chaminade-Julienne) and beat the Ohio Dominican keeper to the far post.

The Quakers out-shot the Panthers 15-10 and held the advantage in corner kicks, 6-3.

Brandon Bernhardt (Cincinnati/Anderson) picks up his second win of the season and also his first shut-out. Bernhardt stopped five shots in the winning effort.

With the win the Quakers improve to 4-4, while Ohio Dominican falls to 5-2-1 on the season.

The next match for the Quakers is Saturday, September 24th, when they play host to Bethany, with kickoff set for 7:30 pm.
