WILMINGTON, Ohio ‹ The Wilmington College Quakers lost to the Dutchmen of Hope College 3-1 on Saturday evening in the final game of the Kiwanis Classic.

The Dutchmen went up early on the Quakers when Geoff Meyer scored his first of two goals on the night when he flicked a rebounded ball over Brandon Bernhardt's (Cincinnati/Anderson) out -stretched body. The Dutchmen would keep the lead for the remained of the game.

Meyer scored his second goal when he took a throw in from Dan Tresslar and headed the ball past the Quaker keeper. Cole Weddle (Cincinnati/Colerain) brought the Quakers back to within one when he scored his first goal of the season. Hope put the game away when Devin McNeil scored off another Tresslar assist.

The Quakers out-shot the Dutchmen 20-6, with seven of them being on goal.

Bernhardt picked up the loss and falls to 1-1 on the season.

The Quakers fall to 3-4 on the season.

The next match for the Quakers is on Tuesday, September 21st as they host Ohio Dominican University, with kickoff set for 7:30 pm.
