GRANVILLE, Ohio ‹ The Wilmington College Quakers defeated the Big Red ofDenison University 4-2 on Saturday evening.

The Quakers scored just four minutes into the game as Michael Williams (Ft. Thomas/Newport Catholic) scored his first goal of the season off a corner kick. The Big Red tied the game up five minutes later when Scott Vallee scored off a rebounded corner kick. The Quakers would take the lead into halftime when Oskar Johansson (Jonkoping, Sweden) scored his second goal of the season when he beat the keeper to the right post on a breakaway.

Nine minutes into the second half the Green and White struck when Johansson scored his second goal of the game. David Benedict (Cincinnati/North College Hill) scored the fourth and final goal for the Quakers in the 74th minute. Denison's Steve Cole scored the Big Red's second and final goal.

The Quakers out-shot the Big Red 12-10.

Justin Saylor (Cleveland Heights/Cleveland Heights) picked up the win, improving to 2-2 on the year.

The Quakers improve to 2-2 on the season, while Denison falls to 1-2 on the season.

The next game for the Green and White is on Tuesday, September 13th as the team travels north to take on Ohio Wesleyan University, with kickoff set for 7:30 pm.
