(WC Press Release) CEDARVILLE, Ohio (September 7, 2004) ‹ The Wilmington
College Quakers picked up a victory over Cedarville University by
the narrowest of margins, 1-0, on Tuesday evening.

After
playing to a scoreless first half, the Quakers found the back of
the net when Chad Garman (Dayton/Chaminade-Julienne) beat David
Howdyshell, the Yellow Jacket goalkeeper, giving the visiting Quakers
a 1-0 lead. The only goal would stand for the rest of the half,
as the Green and White allowed just two shots in the second period,
holding on to their slim margin.
Junior Justin Saylor (Cleveland Heights/Cleveland Heights) and Brandon
Bernhardt (Cincinnati/Anderson) each picked up a half-shutout in
the win, as the duo allowed no goals throughout the game.
With
the win, the Quakers hope for an undefeated season continues with
a record of 2-0-1, while Cedarville falls to 2-2 on the year.
The
next game for the Green and White is on Saturday, September 11,
as the team plays host to the Big Red of Denison University with
kickoff slated for 7:30 p.m.
