‹ Wilmington College senior defensive tackle Brandon Tisdale (Wilberforce/Xenia)
led five Quakers on the All-Ohio Athletic Conference squad announced
on Monday.
Tisdale,
a four-year starter and three-time All-OAC award winner was named
to the first team after recording 18.0 tackles for loss and eight
quarterback sacks on the year. He ended is career second in career
tackles for loss in NCAA All-Divisions, while finishing third in
quarterback sacks.
Senior
wide receiver Deon Short (Cincinnati/Mt. Healthy) was named to the
second team after hauling in 44 passes on the year for 569 yards,
both team highs, while scoring three times on pass receptions.
Senior
safety Cory Norvell (Dayton/Dunbar) was named to the second team
defense after recording a team-high 100 tackles on the year, including
three tackles for loss, one quarterback sack while picking off one
pass.
Senior
linebackers Jeff Jenkins (Bellbrook/Bellbrook) and Marcus Hefner
(Crestline/Crestline) earned All-OAC Honorable Mention honors after
recording 70 and 59 tackles respectively, as Jenkins had four quarterback
sacks and Hefner had 10.5 tackles for loss.
The
Quakers ended the 2004 season with a 3-7 record, going 3-6 in the
national powerhouse Ohio Athletic Conference. Five of the 10 teams
the Quakers faced during the year were ranked at one point or another
during the year, with two of the opponents, Mount Union and Mt.
St. Joseph, earning NCAA Division III Playoff berths.
