Deon Short named the OAC Offensive Player of the Week

Senior has eight-catch, 125-yard performance against John Carroll

WILMINGTON — Wilmington College senior wide receiver Deon Short (Cincinnati/Mt. Healthy) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Week for his performance against the John Carroll Blue Streaks on October 16.

The senior hauled in a season-high eight passes for a season-high 125 yards and a touchdown, his second receiving score of the year and third touchdown overall.

On the season, Short has 26 catches for 335 yards and two touchdowns, all team-highs. He is also averaging a league-best 25.9 yards per kick return while recording one kickoff return touchdown.

The honor is Short's second of the season, as he was named the Special Teams Player of the Week on October 4 for his performance against Heidelberg where he returned three kicks for 136 yards, including a 89-yard touchdown.

The Quakers, currently 2-4 overall and 2-3 in the OAC play next on Saturday, October 23 at home against Otterbein with kickoff set for 1:30 p.m. at Williams Stadium.
