Men's cross country finish 26th at Pre-Nationals

TERRE HAUTE, IN – In one of their biggest meets of the season, the Wilmington men’s cross country team tried to get prepared for the two of their biggest meets of the season.

With the Wilmington Fall Classic and the Ohio Athletic Conference meet on the horizon, the Quakers finished 26th of 30 teams at the Rose-Hulman Pre-National cross country meet.

“We tried to run as a pack to work on some stuff,” said Combs. “We were 15 to 20 seconds slower than we wanted on the first mile and we never seemed to recover. We tried some different things and it didn’t work out for us.”

Junior Myles Corcoran (Wilmington, OH/Clinton-Massie) was the top WC placer, finishing 90th in 27:12. Junior Alek Erwin (South Vienna, OH/Northeastern) was the second Quaker across the finish in the time of 27:21, good for 109th.

The final three placers for Wilmington were sophomore Jacob Boehm (Blanchester, OH/McNicholas) was 154th in 28:04, junior Brad Kline (Circleville, OH/Circleville) was 159th in 28:04 and sophomore Rob King (Washington Court House, OH/Miami Trace) was 165 in 28:20.

Wilmington will host the WC Fall Classic Friday.
