Wilmington men’s cross country coach Ron Combs doesn’t attempt to mask his enthusiasm for the 2008 season. With a returning contingent that is deep in both numbers and talent, the Quakers will be a squad that shouldn’t be overlooked.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Led by Austin Stiles’ top-50 performance, Wilmington College ended its cross country season with a 20th-place finish at the Great Lakes Regional, hosted by Calvin College. The host Knights won the 34-team event.

CLEVELAND — Austin Stiles earned all-conference honors and helped lead the WC men to a sixth-place finish at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships at Highland Golf Course Saturday.

The weather was cool and the course was fast as Shawnee State University captured the team title at the 2007 Wilmington College Fall Classic on the WC campus Friday afternoon. Shawnee finished with 57 points while Otterbein was second with 73. Wilmington finished fourth in the the 20-team field with 153 points.

The Wilmington College Men's Cross Country Team placed 23rd at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Meet. The Quakers hosted the meet at Voice of America Park in Mason, Ohio. Calvin College placed first overall with 46 points, while Anderson University came in second with 99 points.
