Quakers fall short at Muskingum

NEW CONCORD (February 12, 2003) the Wilmington College Quakers were defeated 69-58 by conference foe Muskingum College on Wednesday evening.

Wilmington (4-18, 2-13 OAC) trailed by four early in the game before the team went on a 9-0 run to take a five-point, 9-4 lead five minutes into the game. Muskingum chipped away at the Quaker advantage, and took the lead back two minutes later. The two teams battled back and forth until the Muskies took a five point lead with 4:23 left, and would not trail for the rest of the game, as they went into the locker room with a 32-26 halftime lead.

Muskingum (10-12, 6-9 OAC) scored first in the second half with a layup before the Quakers scored five straight to cut the deficit to three. That would be as close as the team would come the rest of the way, as the team was defeated 69-58 by the conference rivals.
