Quakers downed
by 25 against Baldwin-Wallace
BEREA, Ohio
(January 25, 2003) The Wilmington College Quakers were downed 100-75
in Berea against the Yellow Jackets of Baldwin-Wallace College.
The Quakers put four players in double figures in the game, but
came out on the wrong end of the scoreboard.
Baldwin-Wallace
(10-7, 6-4 OAC) jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the opening minutes
and never trailed the rest of the contest. The Quakers cut the deficit
to three with just eight minutes left in the half before the Yellow
Jackets opened a 10-0 run to take the lead to double figures. The
lead for B-W would grow to as high as 18 when the hosts from Berea
went into intermission with an 18-point, 45-27 lead.
Wilmington (3-14,
1-9) cut the deficit to 15 in the first minute of the second half,
but a 20-5 run gave the hosts a 30-point lead, as they did not look
back the rest of the way in the 25-point win.
Josh Rohrbacher
(Columbus/Beechcroft) led the team with 13 points while David Guy
(Webb City, MO/Webb City) scored 12, Adam Weber (Peebles/Peebles)
scored 11 and Deon Short (Cincinnati/Mt. Healthy) chipped in with
10. Stephen Gee (West Milton/Milton-Union) pulled down a game-high
nine rebounds as the Green and White out-rebounded the Yellow Jackets
30-25. Greg Liggens (Toledo/Scott) dished out a game-high five assists
for the Green and White.
Baldwin-Wallace
put all five starters in double figures, with Jon Carroll leading
the way with a game-high 23 points. Shawn McCormick scored 18 while
Tom Harrington and Thad Davis each scored 14 and Eric Reminder chipped
in 13. Davis pulled down a team-high six rebounds as Carroll dished
out a game-leading eight assists.
The next game
for the Green and White is set for Wednesday, January 29 when the
team travels to Ada, Ohio to face off against the Polar Bears of
Ohio Northern University with tip-off set for 7:30 p.m.
