Quakers fall to hot shooting Crusaders 91-50
Team shoots just 30% from field in loss

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The
Wilmington College Quakers fell victim to hot shooting in the
Capital Center on Wednesday evening, as
the Capital Crusaders hit 56.9% of their shots in a 91-50 loss
in OAC action.
Eric Stirling (Brooklyn, NY/LaSalle Academy) was the sole Quaker
in double figures with 14 in the loss.
The two teams started the half even, as the game was tied at four
with 16:30 to play in the period, before the hosts opened a 15-0
run over the next five minutes, eventually leading by as many as
29 in the half, as the Quakers went into the locker room trailing
40-16.
The second half was much of the same for the Crusaders, as they
led by as many as 43 in the game, and by 41 at the buzzer.
Stirling scored a team-high 14 points while Jeff Proctor (Warren/Howland)
added a career-high nine in the loss. David Guy (Webb City, MO/Webb
City) pulled down a team-high five rebounds in the loss.
Capital was led by David Johnson who scored 23 points on 7-of-8
shooting from three-point range while Jeff Hager added 13 points
in the win.
With the loss, the Quakers fall to 8-7 on the year and even their
Ohio Athletic Conference record to 4-4 while Capital improves to
11-4 overall and 7-2 in league play.
The next game for the Quakers is on Saturday, January 22 when
the team travels to Berea, Ohio to face off against the Yellow
Jackets of Baldwin-Wallace College with tip-off set for 3:00 p.m.
