Men use strong first half to run past Oberlin

OBERLIN, Ohio (January 2, 2003) The Wilmington College Quakers outscored the Oberlin Yeomen 37-18 in the first half en-route to a 68-47 victory for the visitors. Greg Liggens (Toledo/Scott) led the Quakers with a game-high 18 points, shooting 7-of-10 from the field.

The Quakers (3-8), who never trailed in the contest, got their first points from a Josh Rohrbacher (Columbus/Beechcroft) three point basket. The first half lead would grow to as many as 20, and ended at 19, 37-18.

In the second half Oberlin (0-8) got on the board first, but it was not enough, as the Quakers outscored the Yeomen 31-29 in the second stanza, ending the game up by 21 at 68-47.

Liggens led all scorers with 18 points while Will Bruce (Cleveland/Benedictine) and Adam Weber (Peebles/Peebles) chipped in with 11 points apiece. Liggens and Bruce each pulled down a team leading six rebounds while Dave Hudson (Bucyrus/Col. Crawford) dished out a game-high five assists.

Oberlin was led by Bosko Tomasevic, who scored 14 points and pulled down nine rebounds in the contest.
